Stronghold of Joy

Aro Ga'dzong comprises a row of sixteenth century village buildings on a south-facing slope of the Montagna Pistoiese, in the Appenines of northern Tuscany, Italy. It stands above a river ravine ringed by forested foothills, ornamented with the changing colours of the seasons, liquid amber light, opalescent cloudscapes, the scents of woodsmoke, wild herbs and blossom, and the audible moods of the Lima torrent.
